A note about RealRed: In the IPtbW world, vampires (along with several other non-human entities) are recognized within the community and function as more or less as normal citizens. In order to feed, most prefer to go to places called “blood bars” which are located Downtown and carry a variety of different animal bloods (similar to those in Matt Haig’s The Radleys novel). Some prefer to hunt animals. However, there is a city-wide ban on hunting, so vampires must travel out to the countryside to do so. Then there is “RealRed”, a drink that functions like “TruBlood” from the Sookie Stackhouse novels. However, no vampire is able to live on RealRed alone. The drink was designed by a company that is now bankrupt. The drink itself is made of blood substitute and cranberry juice. Vampires only drink it in emergencies and nearly all public establishments are stocked with a few reserves, just in case.
